Today was a perfect opportunity to wear this coat I picked up in the January sales. A lovely sunny Sunday but with a chilly wind. We wanted to make the most of this glorious day so we had a wander round a beautiful gallery not too far from us.
I have a wardrobe full of maroon; it is my go to colour choice over the winter months. I paired it with a blue lace dress and my comfy and warm maroon boots. Lace dresses are a big favourite of mine, I find them very versatile and perfect for many occasions. If you read my blog you will know I have quite a selection! What other outfits do you think would work with this coat? I would love to hear your ideas.
After a lovely visit to the gallery we were feeling a little peckish and there is only one place I wanted to go and that was Marmadukes. This is one of my favourite little cafes to eat in and I would highly recommend it.
It is so quaint and funky inside and the sandwiches are just heaven! I can't wait to go back and try their eggs benedict. They even have blankets so you can sit outside when it is chilly. I love it!

I agree; it definitely adds colour to my outfits :-)
You look very warm and stylish.
ReplyThank you; it is lovely and snug :-)
The coat is a lovely warm colour, and I think it would add depth and cosines to anything you paired it with, Rachel. It look gorgeous with the blue lace dress. I have been to Marmaduke's a few times, it's a tad twee for my tastes and I can't be doing with boards and slates for plates! Ha, I'm such a grump! xxxx
ReplyThank you so much Curtise. I'm counting on it keeping me very warm over the next few weeks. I'm afraid I love all things twee and shabby chic lol! xxxx
Love your jacket, such a great colour :-)
ReplyThank you so much Claire :-)
Love the look and colour of the coat - I know it piqued my interest because I really wanted to feel the texture of the coat ( why do have the need to feel the materiel in clothes?) - really like the look of your lacey dress as well - again its a great colour !
ReplyThank you so much, you are so kind. I love to feel material too, I am quite fussy with the texture of sweaters! :-)
What a lovely cafe!! It looks awesome, apart from the Yorkshire tea, I'm really not a fan of Yorkshire tea. It's so cute that they give you blankets! The dress is lovely - you're right about how you can wear lace dresses for so many different things =)
