I visited Rome with S for a short break in February 2009 and I fell in love. As a child I had always wanted to go there, I think the Audrey Hepburn film Roman Holiday had something to do with this! Here are a few memories from our holiday there. (memories taken on a little compact camera, before we got a DSLR).
The Trevi Fountain lived up to expectations, it was romantic and beautiful. Sitting at the side eating Italian ice-cream was heaven and something that I will never forget. The saying is that if you throw a coin in you will visit again. I threw in more just to make sure!

Every where you turn there is ancient history just waiting to be explored.

I'm hoping to go back one day and re-live all those wonderful experiences we shared while we were there. Fantastico!
What lovely photos. I feel the same since we got our DSLR, I want to go back to all the countries we traveled too so that we can get better photos! A country I really miss is Timor Leste and cannot wait to get back there.
ReplyI agree about going back to all the countries to get better pictures, it's a good excuse!
Looks like you had a great time in Rome. It makes me want to visit.
ReplyYou should definitely visit, it's such a great place to just be.
This makes me want to go visit Rome too... I will, one day!
ReplyYou will want to go back over and over when you visit, especially if you try the ice-cream!
I need to PIN a couple of your scenery photos to print for my fridge to get me motivated to eat better and walk more. I want to travel so much!! But i need to be in better shape so that I can walk.
ReplyWhile we were there, we both wore out a pair of shoes because we walked so much. That had something to do with us getting lost all the time because the signs aren't good!
ReplyI need to travel again . THis reminded me of the need. Did you go to see all the feral felines in the colloseum at night? Its amazing.
ReplyPutting these pictures together has given the travel bug again! Didn't see the feral cats but there was so much too see that we will just have to go back!
Its such a long time since I visited Rome as an 18 year old with 4 girlfriends as we travelled around Europe. I'd love to go back with my husband.
ReplyDefinitely, it's such a romantic place to be.
I have friends and family just outside of Rome I go and visit about once a year. Let me tell you, Rome has my heart x
ReplyYou are so lucky, I would be visiting all the time! Do you have a favourite part of Rome?
FABULOUS photos!! I want to go there so bad, on my bucket list!!

Ohh, Rome looks beautiful. On my list of places to go someday.
ReplyIt is beautiful and the fact you can walk so easily from place to place makes it even better.
I love your pictures! And I know what you mean about Rome. I love it there, too. I actually wrote about Rome as one of the first posts in my blog. It's such a beautiful place.
ReplyThere was a great view from the apartment you were staying in. Are you planning to go again?
Rome looks amazing! I hope to visit someday.
ReplyYou will not want to leave when you do, it's just so wonderful.
AWWWWW, beautiful pictures. I can't wait to go to Italy, we will stop in Rome just to take a train to Naples but just would love to be in Rome for that fraction because Rome teaches me something every time :)
ReplyI would love to go to Naples and travel to places like Capri. When are you visiting? Sounds like a good holiday to go on.
